Trend: The Studded Collar
For some time now, photos of celebrities and streestyle fashionistas sporting studded collars have been appearing on numerous fashion blogs and magazines. Although the trend is not new, it is slowly gaining popularity and numerous studded collar DIY articles have already been posted online.
It all started back in 2009 when Prada decided to introduce studded collars in its AW collection. Even though the trend was originally intended for men, it proved to be a success among female fashion enthusiasts everywhere.

Fashion Icon: Alexa Chung
Alexa Chung, became all the rage in the fashion world for her quirky and menswear-inspired fashion choices, earning her fashion icon status and her own Mulberry bag named the 'Alexa' back in 2009. Described as the "Kate Moss of our generation" by the New York Times, Alexa was born in England and started her career in the fashion world as a model, appearing in both magazines and music videos.
After her short stint at modelling, the blazer-loving beauty decided to study journalism. Alexa has co-hosted numerous TV shows, such as T4's "Frock Me", NBC's "2011 Golden Globe Arrivals Special", MTV's and " It's On with Alexa Chung" among others.
The staples of her wardrobe seem to be tailored blazers, striped pieces, oxford shoes, girly flowered dresses, small stachel bags, long cardigans and boyfriend sweaters.

A Girl of Singular Beauty
Photographer: Paolo Roversi
Model: Natalia Vodianova
Magazine: Vogue Italia (September 2004)
Italian-born Paolo Roversi began his career as a reporter for the Associated Press when he was 23 years old, and later fell in love with fashion photography, gaining recognition in 1980 after working in a Christian Dior beauty campaign and becoming one of the most important fashion photographers of our time.
The virtue of this photosoot lies in its timelessness an its ability to portray in equal measures the beauty of the model and intricacies of the dresses.

Steve Jobs has passed away...
Today we mourn the loss of a genius and a true visionary. Thank you Steve Jobs, for inspiring us and for changing the world.
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” Stanford commendement speech, June 2005.
R.I.P Steve Jobs.

Outfit of the day: Neutral Fall
Classy and a little careless, the key to this look is to combine a ladylike and structured bag with a chunky and boyish knit sweater while mixing muted and blush tones together and ta-da! You have achieved the perfect look to transition smoothly from summer to fall.
How do you transition your wardrobe from summer to fall? Let me know in the comments!

Designer Collection: Isabel Marant RTW Spring 2012
The formula for Isabel Marant's Spring 2012 Ready-To-Wear Collection combines American sportswear clothing, tie-dye, patchwork jeans, exotic blouses, embroidered pieces, body-con dresses and her trademark chunky cable knit sweaters to create the ultimate boho Parisian-cool (and youthful!) look.
The Isabel Marant girl is the epithome of casual dressing; she is aventurous, easy going, well-traveled and incorporates folkloric pieces into her everyday wardrobe. But the French designer's approach to a casual style is far from being boyish, the collection still maintains a feminine touch with Marant's latest creation: the nude ankle chain sandals.

The photoshoot for this editorial took place in Peru, in the city of Cusco, in 2008. The concept for the photoshoot was to portray two backpack travelers ('mochileras') discovering an exotic destination and getting lost in its beauty. This is easily one of my favorite editorials and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Fashion Icon: Giovanna Battaglia
Photographed innumerable times by the likes of Scott Schuman, Garance Dore, and many other renowned streetsyle photographers, Giovanna Battaglia has become the latest fashion icon thanks to her impeccable and sophisticated fashion sense.
The Italian fashion icon used to model for D&G and is currentlt the Editor of L'Uomo Vogue and a freelance stylist. Giovanna exudes femininity with every outfit that she wears. We have yet to see a photo of Giovanna wearing jeans and sneakers, and it is safe to say that the word casual doesn't exist in her world.
The staples of her wardrobe seem to be ladylike dresses, pencil skirts, layer skirts, ruffled blouses, statement necklaces, tailored trousers, kitten heels, small or medium sized structured handbags and oversized round sunglasses. Instead of blindly following the runway trends like many models and celebrities so often do, Giovanna stays true to her style with elegance and class, setting herself apart from the rest of the fashion editors.

Get the Look: Model Off-Duty
For a few years now, models have been garnering much attention for their casual and effortless off-duty looks. While most of us can't afford to wear the outfits that models carry on the runways, we can try to replicate their off-duty looks and incorporate these into our everyday lives.
Below are a few pointers to achieve the model off-duty look...
Model Off-Duty Basics
1. Layers: it really is all about the layers; this is the key for the model off-duty look. Scarves, jackets, cardigans and oversized tees all come together to give models a perfect disheveled, yet chic look. The idea is to mix different lengths together, bonus points if you use a structured military or utility jacket over a long cardigan.
2. Muted colors: the model off-duty look usually mixes some variation of black, gray, beige, nude, white and camel tones. By doing this, you prevent the layered look from looking too shabby and mismatched.
