Italian-born Paolo Roversi began his career as a reporter for the Associated Press when he was 23 years old, and later fell in love with fashion photography, gaining recognition in 1980 after working in a Christian Dior beauty campaign and becoming one of the most important fashion photographers of our time.
The virtue of this photosoot lies in its timelessness an its ability to portray in equal measures the beauty of the model and intricacies of the dresses.

The irreverent combination of green suede, wild patterns, burgundy calf hair pieces, metallic pants and purple fringed suede ankle boots, along with the added doodle effects take this editorial to a new playful level where fashion is not to be taken seriously, but to be enjoyed in its entirety.

The photoshoot for this editorial took place in Peru, in the city of Cusco, in 2008. The concept for the photoshoot was to portray two backpack travelers ('mochileras') discovering an exotic destination and getting lost in its beauty. This is easily one of my favorite editorials and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
